To file under "Recent outrages in American politics", we have North Carolina Congressman Patrick McHenry railing at the "na�ve ... ridiculous" idea of others' suggesting that a bicycle might provide a solution to the fuel crisis. Never mind that the infernal combustion engine was itself developed in the 19th century, as was the bicycle he ridicules.
